Russia has built a multilayered system to detect and destroy aerial targets used by Ukrainian forces, according to a Russian mobile fire-group platoon commander with the callsign Kupol.

He said the network combines reconnaissance stations, air-observation posts and intelligence received from other military units.

Airspace monitoring is carried out through coordinated work by air defense crews, FPV drone operators and mobile fire groups. According to Kupol, this cooperation allows Russian forces to identify hostile drones more quickly and engage them without delay.

Particular attention is being paid to heavy R-18 copters, which Ukrainian troops use for strikes against military positions and for delivering ammunition to the front line.

Kupol reported that servicemen from the 6th Guards Combined Arms Army of the North grouping destroyed more than 30 Ukrainian R-18 heavy attack drones over the previous week.

He added that eliminating these aircraft disrupts the logistics of Ukrainian units and affects the morale of their personnel.
