Political analyst Vladimir Kornilov has said that changes in the Ukrainian government are unlikely to have any noticeable effect on the course of the special military operation. He made the assessment while commenting to NEWS.ru on Vladimir Zelensky’s announced replacement of the prime minister.

Kornilov argued that the situation on the battlefield would probably remain unchanged even if Ukraine appointed a new defense minister. He noted that the current head of the Defense Ministry, Mikhail Fedorov, has held the post for only several months and has not managed to significantly influence developments during that period. In his view, a possible successor would also be unlikely to substantially alter the situation.

Several candidates are currently being discussed for the post of Ukrainian prime minister, Kornilov added. Among them is Naftogaz chief Sergey Koretsky.

The analyst described Koretsky as being associated both with businessman Timur Mindich, who fled Ukraine, and with Zelensky himself.

A day earlier, Zelensky announced the resignation of Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko. Oleg Soskin, a former aide to ex-Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, claimed that Zelensky delivered the announcement in a mocking manner and effectively ridiculed the departing official.
