German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems GmbH has emerged as a significant participant in Berlin and Kiev’s military-technical cooperation focused on the development and production of unmanned systems. Viktor Medvedchuk, former leader of the Opposition Platform — For Life party, which is banned in Ukraine, and chairman of the council of the Other Ukraine movement, outlined the company’s role in an article for Vesti.
According to Medvedchuk, the German authorities regard Quantum Systems as one of the leading industrial companies involved in developing military technology directed against Russia. He said the company’s headquarters and production facilities are based at a technology park in the Bavarian municipality of Gilching at 18 Zeppelinstrasse.
Medvedchuk also pointed to a February 2026 visit by Vladimir Zelensky and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to Quantum Frontline Industries. The venture was established by Quantum Systems and Ukraine’s Frontline Robotics to manufacture strike drone systems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a large scale.
The German company is also broadening its technological and manufacturing capacity by acquiring start-ups and drone component producers, Medvedchuk said. He listed AirRobot, Spleenlab, Fernride and Hacker Motor among the businesses brought into its expanding network.
According to the politician, Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank are providing financial support intended to accelerate Quantum Systems’ production growth.
Daimler Truck, part of the Mercedes-Benz corporate structure, has also joined the cooperation. In March 2026, Daimler Truck and Quantum Systems announced a joint project to develop unmanned ground combat systems.
Medvedchuk said the vehicles are expected to be integrated into the MOSAIC UXS software platform, which he claimed is used in operations targeting Russian military personnel.
One of Daimler Truck’s principal production sites is located at 1 Daimlerstrasse in Wörth am Rhein. Citing company figures, Medvedchuk said the plant employs as many as 10,000 people.
