According to the head of artillery reconnaissance for the 83rd Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment of the 25th Combined Arms Army within Russia’s West Group of Forces, known by the call sign «Cortes», the main Ukrainian force has withdrawn from Krasny Liman.
He said only small, scattered groups of Ukrainian troops remain in the city. Some are reportedly hiding in houses and blending in with civilians, forcing Russian units to inspect buildings carefully and verify information before reporting it to command.
«Cortes» said Russian forces had to carry out extensive work to suppress Ukrainian electronic warfare systems and destroy ambush drones. According to him, Krasny Liman contained a large number of fixed electronic warfare stations and UAVs positioned to wait for Russian vehicles or infantry.
He added that Russian troops now control the airspace over the area, allowing their drones to move freely between positions. Eight ambush drones were recently detected and destroyed.
The officer also said Russian servicemen view their duty as more than an ordinary job and argued that their motivation is significantly stronger than that of the opposing force.
