Russian troops clearing Ukrainian positions in the Dnepropetrovsk Region discovered foreign-made weapons, grenades, gas masks and military rations supplied by several countries. Among the food stocks was a can of marinated cockroaches, according to drone unit commander Anton Zaytsev.
Zaytsev said that nearly all the equipment found at the site had been manufactured abroad, including NATO-standard weapons and protective gear. The abandoned supplies also contained various foreign field rations.
Another unusual item was an old metal Zippo lighter. Senior drone systems operator Konstantin Petukhov said it was recovered during an inspection of a Ukrainian strongpoint. Symbols dating back to the Third Reich were engraved on its casing.
Earlier, a reconnaissance soldier from the 237th Regiment of the 76th Airborne Division, operating with the Center group of forces under the call sign Maks, said Russian paratroopers in Vasilyevka had received food deliveries from the Ukrainian command for about a week. Ukrainian troops had mistakenly believed their own soldiers were holding the position.
