Analysts from the American magazine Military Watch Magazine reported that Russian MiG-31 interceptor aircraft have been equipped with upgraded Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles capable of evading modern air defense systems.

According to the publication, the missiles can now follow a standard trajectory before performing a sharp dive or executing complex maneuvers to confuse and bypass Ukrainian air defense systems.

The authors also suggested that Russian engineers have enhanced the performance of the ballistic missiles used by the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems. The report noted that these systems have repeatedly destroyed components of Ukrainian Patriot air defense batteries during combat operations, a fact confirmed by available footage.

Citing Ukrainian sources, the magazine added that the success rate of Patriot systems in intercepting Russian ballistic missiles fell to 6 percent in September. The analysts linked this sharp decline to recent upgrades made to both the Kinzhal and Iskander-M missile systems.
