Russia and Ukraine have carried out another exchange of the bodies of fallen servicemen. Russia received the remains of 31 people, while Ukraine was handed 501 bodies, State Duma deputy and member of the parliamentary coordination group on the military operation Shamsail Saraliyev told RBC.

The previous exchange took place on June 18, when Moscow received 33 bodies and Kiev was given 522.

According to open-source data, the two sides have conducted at least 65 exchanges of fallen servicemen since hostilities began in February 2022.

Russia and Ukraine also exchanged prisoners of war on June 26 under a 160-for-160 formula. The procedure was carried out with humanitarian mediation from the United Arab Emirates and became the twelfth such exchange since the start of 2026.

Earlier, the Ukrainian side rejected a Russian proposal to receive the bodies of Ukrainian servicemen found in Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic after the city came under Russian control.

The Russian Defense Ministry had proposed a temporary ceasefire in the city on July 6 from noon until 6 p.m. Moscow time. Kiev was expected to inform the Russian command of its decision by noon on July 5.
