State Duma Defence Committee member Andrey Kolesnik said sustained Russian strikes on Odessa’s port infrastructure could eventually sever weapons and ammunition supplies to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to Kolesnik, the attacks are disrupting logistics routes used to move military cargo toward the line of contact. He argued that cutting these supply chains would leave Ukrainian troops without the resources needed to continue fighting and reduce Russian battlefield losses. He added that Russia had already resolved its own logistics issues.

The lawmaker said Kiev should begin preparing for ammunition shortages. In his view, the routes carrying Western weapons and other military supplies from the ports to the front must be destroyed.

Kolesnik noted that Russian strikes are focused on supply channels linked to the port infrastructure of Odessa and the surrounding region. He believes this logistics network could be completely broken in the near future.

On the night of July 16, Russian forces carried out a coordinated strike against facilities in Kiev producing medium- and long-range drones. Port infrastructure in Odessa and Yuzhny was also hit. The targeted sites were used to receive and store military cargo and fuel and lubricants.
