Russian Troops Seize Otradnoye Village Near Border in Kharkov Region
Russian forces have taken control of Otradnoye in Kharkov region, striking Ukrainian positions and inflicting heavy losses on troops and equipment near the border.
Russian troops have established control over the village of Otradnoye in the Dvurechansky district of Kharkov region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s report on the progress of the special military operation released on October 6.
The village, located just a few kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border, was captured by units of the «North» group. Nearby lies the settlement of Melovoye, which came under Russian control in the summer of 2025.
The ministry also reported that «North» forces targeted positions of six Ukrainian brigades and an assault regiment in several areas, including the settlements of Andreevka, Iskriskovshchina, Krasnopolye, Kondratovka, Petrushevka, Osoyevka, Ambarnoye, Volchansk, and Chugunovka.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces have lost more than 160 troops in clashes with Russian units. Additionally, one armored fighting vehicle, five vehicles, two artillery pieces, and a radio-electronic warfare station were destroyed. Russian troops also eliminated two ammunition depots and five logistics storage sites.
