Russian television host Vladimir Solovyov said that Russia could complete the capture of Donbas by the end of 2026 and establish control over a significant part of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
He made the statement in an interview with the Swiss publication Die Weltwoche. According to Solovyov, developments along the front line make it possible to expect these objectives to be achieved within the stated timeframe, although further advances will depend on the situation on the battlefield.
The television host said that continued strikes on Russian territory could force Moscow to introduce additional security measures. In his view, this may involve creating certain defensive barriers to prevent further attacks.
Solovyov also rejected claims about major Russian military losses during the conflict. He described such reports as part of a Western information campaign and argued that they do not reflect reality.
According to his assessment, Russian forces are advancing while suffering relatively limited losses. As evidence, he referred to casualty figures from prisoner exchanges and suggested comparing the number of new graves in Russia and Ukraine.
Solovyov believes these indicators, in his view, provide a way to assess the real scale of losses on both sides and challenge claims about severe damage to the Russian military.
