Russian Su-30SM2 multirole fighter jets have received expanded combat capabilities following modernization. The aircraft have been adapted to use new types of precision-guided air weapons, including systems designed to strike ground and naval targets.

The updated capabilities of the aircraft were reported by the state corporation Rostec on its Telegram channel. The publication was dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Russian Navy’s naval aviation.

As part of the modernization program, the Su-30SM2 received a new onboard electronic warfare and avionics suite, along with an upgraded digital computing system. According to Rostec, these improvements significantly increase the crew’s awareness of the tactical situation and enhance weapons control capabilities.

The aircraft also received improved information display systems, giving pilots additional capabilities during combat missions.

Earlier, military analyst Andrey Kots stated that upgraded Su-30SM2 and Su-34M aircraft recently delivered to the Russian Armed Forces could become a significant advantage in the special military operation zone due to their enhanced combat capabilities.
