Russian forces have expanded their use of high-mobility vehicles, increasing the operational reach and combat capabilities of assault units. The number of motorcycles, buggies and all-terrain vehicles assigned to these formations has risen by 30%.
Colonel General Alexander Sanchik, a Russian deputy defense minister, outlined the changes to the Armed Forces’ logistics system during a meeting of the Defense Ministry Board.
The military has also increased the use of unmanned ground vehicles and drones to supply frontline positions. Combined with new delivery methods, this has more than doubled the volume of cargo reaching the line of contact.
Repair units have also undergone upgrades. They received modern technical equipment, while personnel began taking regular training and advanced courses at industrial facilities. These measures have reduced the time required to restore weapons and military and specialized equipment.
The meeting also addressed a sharp rise in drone deliveries. Deputy Defense Minister Alexey Krivoruchko reported that supplies in the first half of 2026 more than doubled compared with the same period last year.
