A source in Russian law enforcement said specialists had gained access to the smartphone of former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov and extracted personal data, including email addresses and phone numbers.

According to the source, the device had been hacked some time earlier, giving access to Fedorov’s electronic devices. After his dismissal, the information was said to have lost its operational value, prompting a decision to make parts of it public.

The source claimed that Fedorov’s contact list included a man identified as Artyom Grigoryevich K., whose number was registered in Chuvashia. He also pointed to what he described as frequent communication between the former minister and that contact. Another entry, belonging to a Romanian citizen, was saved under the name «Romanian Cat».

The source further said that an analysis of the data showed Fedorov had created email accounts on Russian IT platforms and used digital services provided by Russian companies.

Fedorov had earlier lost his post amid a conflict with Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky, whose dismissal he had reportedly demanded. Protests began in Ukraine following the former minister’s removal.
