Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 381 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on July 20, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
The aircraft were brought down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tambov and Tula regions, as well as the Moscow Region, Krasnodar Territory and Crimea. Additional drones were destroyed over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
Another 161 drones were intercepted between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Moscow time the previous day. Those attacks targeted the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk and Tula regions, the Moscow Region, Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and the Black Sea.
The Belgorod Region came under 130 Ukrainian attacks over the past 24 hours, acting governor Alexander Shuvayev reported. Belgorod and the Belgorod, Borisovka, Valuyki, Veydelevka, Volokonovka, Grayvoron, Ivnya, Korocha, Krasnaya Yaruga, Rakitnoye, Shebekino and Yakovlevo districts were affected.
Ukrainian forces used artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems four times and carried out another eight attacks by dropping explosive devices from drones. Air defense crews and other units destroyed or suppressed 170 unmanned aircraft.
A man who was critically wounded in a July 18 drone strike on a passenger bus in the Belgorod district died in intensive care.
Another 14 civilians, including two children, were wounded in Belgorod and the Belgorod, Borisovka, Grayvoron, Ivnya and Shebekino districts. An initial diagnosis involving a three-year-old child was not confirmed after further examination, and the child was discharged. Two other children remain in specialist wards at the regional children’s hospital in moderate condition. They do not require transfer to federal medical facilities.
The Severny Veter channel also reported damage and casualties in the Kursk Region. Drones struck four apartment buildings in Kursk, where a woman suffered acoustic trauma from the blast wave.
In Lgov, strikes hit a bus, a grocery store and a public transport stop. Four people were wounded, including a 40-year-old Belarusian citizen.
Ten people were injured in Kursk, Lgov and on a road in the Rylsk district. Doctors described the condition of three of them as serious.
A 39-year-old man was also wounded in a drone attack on the village of Zaoleshchenka in the Sudzha district. Another drone struck Rylsk, injuring a 19-year-old woman.
