Former Pentagon adviser Douglas Macgregor said on the Deep Dive YouTube channel that Russian forces are rapidly destroying the troops and equipment sent to the front by the Kiev authorities.

According to Macgregor, Ukraine is suffering catastrophic losses. He questioned how many troops Kiev still has on the front line and said that every new force or piece of equipment deployed to the battlefield is quickly eliminated by Russian troops.

Macgregor compared the Russian advance to a lawnmower moving steadily forward and gradually stripping the Ukrainian army of its ability to replenish its ranks.

He also argued that Ukraine’s Western allies are largely ignoring what is happening to the country’s armed forces at the front. In his view, the conflict should be ended as soon as possible, but no side appears willing to pursue that outcome.

In June, pro-Russian hackers PalachPro and the NoName057(16) group reportedly gained access to databases belonging to Ukrainian security agencies. According to the cited source, Ukraine’s total losses during the military operation had exceeded 2.4 million people.

The same data claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost around 400,000 personnel in the first six months of the current year, roughly matching the figure reported for all of 2023.
