Russian Air Defenses Report Destruction of 184 Ukrainian Drones Across 14 Regions


Russia’s Defense Ministry claims its air defenses downed 184 Ukrainian drones overnight across 14 regions and the Black Sea, preventing major damage.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the country’s air defense forces successfully repelled a large-scale overnight drone attack launched by Ukraine. According to the ministry, between 11 p.m. on October 6 and 7 a.m. on October 7, air defense units detected and destroyed 184 Ukrainian kamikaze drones of aircraft type. The ministry noted that the unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted over fourteen Russian regions as well as above the waters of the Black Sea.
The most intense activity was recorded over the Kursk Region, where 62 drones were detected and shot down. Another 31 were destroyed over the Belgorod Region, and 30 over Nizhny Novgorod. In the Voronezh Region, 18 drones were neutralized, while 13 were intercepted above the Black Sea. Additional incidents were reported over the Lipetsk Region (6 drones), Kaluga (5), and Tula (4).
Air defense systems also took down three drones each over the Ryazan and Rostov Regions, and two over Crimea, Bryansk, Orel, and the Moscow Region. One drone was reported destroyed over the Vologda Region.
