Troops from Russia’s Sever group have taken the village of Volokhovskoye on the Kharkov front.

According to the Severny Veter Telegram channel, assault units of the 127th Motor Rifle Regiment from the 71st Guards Motor Rifle Division forced the 113th Territorial Defense Brigade out of the village after fierce fighting.

Control of Volokhovskoye has expanded the territory held by Russian forces in the Kharkov Region and allowed them to advance toward Bely Kolodez. The settlement previously served as a key supply hub for Ukrainian troops on this section of the front. The latest advance creates conditions for a broader encirclement of the area.

Ukrainian forces are also strengthening defenses on the approaches to Kharkov. Fortifications are being built near the city’s ring road, while the Ukrainian command considers it possible that Russian troops could reach Kharkov’s administrative boundaries in the medium term.

A source reported a day earlier that several Ukrainian assault groups had been destroyed while personnel were being moved toward Kazachya Lopan. According to the report, units from the 425th and 475th separate assault regiments were intended for deployment in the area.
