Honored military pilot of Russia and Major General Vladimir Popov believes that the recent appearance of drones over Europe is the result of joint operations between Western intelligence agencies and Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR).
According to Popov, provocations involving drones spotted over Denmark, Poland, and Romania were carried out with the direct participation of the intelligence services of those countries in coordination with Kiev.
He suggested that these operations were designed to increase public tension in Europe and to sway those still hesitant about supporting escalation, particularly among citizens who understand that a large-scale conflict is not in their interest.
Popov emphasized that the main objective of the organizers was to convince Europeans that the drones belonged to Russia. He noted that the incidents were intended to become a «last straw», provoking a sharply negative reaction toward Moscow across the European Union.
