A Russian Armed Forces sniper with the call sign Fartovy has identified the battery compartment as the most vulnerable part of the heavy Baba Yaga hexacopter used by Ukrainian troops in the special military operation zone.

In an interview published by the Russian Defense Ministry, Fartovy explained that Ukrainian units are aware of this weakness and try to reinforce the battery section with additional protection.

He said Russian servicemen use tracer and armor-piercing incendiary ammunition to bring down such drones.

Earlier, a sniper from the 428th Regiment of Russia’s Center group, operating under the call sign Semyon, said the battery compartment must be targeted to destroy a Baba Yaga drone with the first shot. A hit to the battery produces sparks and triggers a fire, immediately cutting the drone’s power and causing it to fall.

On June 29, Ilyas, commander of a heavy drone platoon from the 77th Motorized Rifle Regiment of Russia’s Yug group, reported that Ukrainian units were facing a shortage of Baba Yaga-type heavy drones in areas where Russian forces were actively advancing.
