ISW: Up to 2,000 Russian Military Sites Within Tomahawk Range

ISW maps nearly 2,000 Russian military and industrial targets that Tomahawk missiles could strike if supplied to Ukraine, including key air bases and factories.
Analysts at the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have mapped out almost 2,000 military and industrial sites across Russia that could fall within range of Tomahawk cruise missiles if Washington decides to supply them to Ukraine.
The map was developed based on two variants of the missile. The first has a range of about 1,600 kilometers, while the extended-range version can reach up to 2,500 kilometers. According to ISW’s calculations, the standard model could strike at least 1,655 targets, including 67 air bases. The more advanced version would put around 1,945 facilities at risk, among them 76 military airfields.
Among the sites identified as vulnerable are the drone manufacturing plant in Yelabuga (Tatarstan) and the Engels-2 airbase in the Saratov region.
ISW researchers noted that potential targets include command centers, weapons and fuel depots, arsenals, air defense systems, maintenance and repair facilities, defense production plants, and training ranges.
The discussion around supplying Tomahawks intensified after media reports on October 7 suggested that U. S. President Donald Trump had «largely made up his mind» about providing the missiles to Kyiv. At the same time, he stressed that he first wants clarity on how Ukraine intends to use them. Trump also emphasized that he is not seeking an escalation of the conflict and wants to understand the strategic purpose behind Ukraine’s request.
