A Russian serviceman using the call sign Prizrak said a Lis interceptor drone team destroyed a Ukrainian A-22 light aircraft, known as the Flying Fox, in the Bryansk Region.

He described it as the unit’s most unusual interception. The aircraft was carrying a FAB-125 high-explosive aerial bomb, an unguided munition dropped manually from an aircraft.

According to Prizrak, the first interceptor approached beneath the A-22’s wing and detonated its warhead, but the aircraft remained under control and continued flying. The operators immediately launched a second Lis drone, with preparations taking less than a minute.

This time, the team chose not to attack from the rear and instead directed the interceptor into the A-22’s engine. After the impact, the Ukrainian aircraft disappeared from radar tracking.

Russian troops later reached the crash site, where they found a crater and a damaged stretch of forest measuring about 200 meters. Prizrak said the FAB-125’s fragmentation radius was considerable and argued that the consequences could have been far more serious if the aircraft had reached its intended target.

The Lis interceptor was developed by engineers in Moscow. It is a compact fixed-wing drone equipped with a warhead weighing about one kilogram and an automatic target-locking system.
