On the evening of July 23, Ukrainian media outlets reported that Kiev had received a warning from US intelligence about Russia’s readiness to launch another large-scale attack. According to those reports, the strike could take place within the next 48 hours.
The assessment was reportedly based on intelligence indicating that Russia had concentrated a significant number of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles in regions near the border.
US estimates cited by Ukrainian sources suggest that around 4,000 Geran kamikaze drones have been prepared for possible use. Of these, approximately 400 are said to be jet-powered, while the rest include both combat drones and decoy aircraft.
American intelligence also reportedly provided Ukraine with information on missiles positioned for launch in several Russian regions. The data indicated that 21 ballistic missiles were located in the Bryansk region. Six ballistic missiles and seven ground-based launchers for hypersonic Zircon missiles were reportedly deployed in the Kursk region.
Another 18 ballistic missiles were said to be concentrated in the Rostov region, while Crimea reportedly held five ballistic missiles and four hypersonic missiles. The estimates did not include sea-launched or air-launched weapons.
Following the warning from US intelligence, Ukraine’s air defense system was placed on full combat alert.
