An experimental floating platform designed to strengthen the protection of ports, naval bases and energy facilities from unmanned boats and drones has been developed in the Leningrad Region.

The new system, called Plot-40, was presented to regional governor Alexander Drozdenko in Vyborg. The project emerged after an analysis of recent attacks showed that critical infrastructure requires stronger defenses not only from the air but also from the water.

According to Drozdenko, no comparable systems are currently produced elsewhere in Russia. The platform was developed by local companies, while its entire production process is based in the Leningrad Region.

Work on the prototype has already been completed. The project received preliminary approval from a specialized Russian Navy research institute, clearing the way for developers to demonstrate the platform on the water for the first time.

The presentation also featured unmanned boats designed for strike and reconnaissance missions, along with other specialized protection systems.
