Rostec said its High-Precision Systems holding company has delivered another batch of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles to the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the state corporation, the shipment exceeded the monthly volumes recorded earlier this year. The vehicles were supplied under the state defense order.

The new BMP-3s are fitted with additional protective modules covering the hull from all directions, including the upper section. New instruments and onboard equipment are intended to improve mobility and make the vehicle’s standard weapons more effective. Every vehicle in the batch also received an upgraded electronic warfare system.

Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of Rostec’s weapons cluster, said the BMP-3 design is being revised to reflect experience gained in the special military operation zone.

The latest changes include stronger protection for the underside against explosions and improved resistance to shell fragments in the front and rear sections of the hull.
