Britain is prepared to send a military contingent to Ukraine once the parties reach a peace agreement and a ceasefire takes effect, Prime Minister Andy Burnham said.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Vladimir Zelensky, Burnham said London was ready to take part in deploying multinational forces intended to bolster Ukraine’s long-term security.

The British government also plans to expand its military assistance to Kiev. According to Burnham, the UK will supply domestically developed electronic warfare technology designed to protect Ukrainian drones from countermeasures and improve their ability to strike targets.

The proposed deployment would involve the so-called coalition of the willing, an initiative launched by Britain and France that includes more than 30 countries. In January, the leaders of the participating states signed a declaration allowing troops to be stationed in Ukraine after a peace settlement is reached.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticised the group on July 13, describing its members as instigators of the conflict and accusing them of having no interest in achieving peace.
