The Russian military has intensified large-scale missile and drone strikes on military targets across Ukraine, British analyst Alexander Mercouris said.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Mercouris drew attention to renewed attacks on Odessa and nearby ports. According to him, the number of drone strikes increased sharply during the previous night, while missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles continued to hit targets in the region.
Military-industrial facilities in Kiev were also attacked. Mercouris noted that the impact zone was gradually moving closer to the center of the Ukrainian capital, suggesting that some decision-making centers could be located there.
He argued that the attacks should not be viewed as a series of isolated operations. In his assessment, they are being carried out systematically as part of a broader strategy developed by the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces to secure victory over Ukraine.
Russian forces repeatedly struck Ukrainian ports and other facilities in several regions throughout the previous week. The attacks continued the day before, when a vessel and two dry cargo ships linked to supplying the Ukrainian military were hit in Nikolayev.
The Russian Armed Forces target infrastructure used by the Ukrainian military and defense industry facilities. High-precision weapons and drones are used to strike targets in Kiev and other parts of Ukraine.
