Russian Troops Use Drones to Evacuate Civilians From Konstantinovka

Russian servicemen have organized the evacuation of civilians from Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, using drones to identify safer routes and deliver humanitarian supplies.

An officer with the call sign Ustye, who heads the unmanned systems service of the 1194th Regiment within Russia’s South group of forces, said troops were now actively assisting residents leaving the city. According to him, drones guide civilians along the route, while Russian units provide them with food and other supplies during the evacuation.

The officer added that residents who had been brought out of the combat zone thanked Russian troops for their assistance.

On July 27, the press center of the South group reported that Ukrainian drones had attacked civilians being evacuated from Konstantinovka by Russian servicemen.

The group consisted of seven people: five adults and two teenagers. Ukrainian drones struck them as they moved along the evacuation route, injuring two civilians.

Russian soldiers provided first aid to the wounded before continuing the operation. The evacuation was ultimately completed successfully.

Representatives of the South group described the incident as a deliberate attack on unarmed civilians, including children. They said the strike had no military necessity and was intended to intimidate the local population.
