Military expert Yuri Knutov believes that restricting Western arms supply routes to Ukraine could sharply reduce attacks on civilian targets inside Russia.
He argued that control over the Black Sea coast alone is not enough. Land corridors carrying military cargo through Romania and Poland must also be disrupted. According to Knutov, Russian forces have not yet stopped these shipments completely, but their volume can still be reduced.
He said strikes on Ukrainian Black Sea ports had proved highly effective, claiming that deliveries of drones, cruise missile components and parts for ballistic missiles under development had fallen to nearly zero.
Knutov also said the Ukrainian Armed Forces still retain substantial weapons stocks and are likely to use them actively. In his assessment, Kiev is currently focusing on attacks against social infrastructure designed to generate maximum public attention, citing Wildberries warehouses as an example.
To counter such strikes, he argued, Ukraine would need to be isolated not only from the Black Sea but also along its western borders.
The Russian Defense Ministry previously reported drone strikes on Ukrainian ports and vessels used in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the ministry, a bulk carrier transporting military cargo was hit in the northwestern Black Sea.
