Russian forces carried out a new series of strikes on Ukrainian port infrastructure and vessels transporting military cargo for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the evening of July 28 and overnight into July 29, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry said storage facilities for military supplies and fuel tanks used to support Ukrainian troops were hit at the port of Nikolaev.

Russian drones also attacked two dry cargo vessels near Odessa on the evening of July 28. According to the Defense Ministry, the ships were heading toward the ports of Odessa and Chernomorsk with weapons and other military cargo.

Military sources separately reported strikes on port infrastructure in Odessa, Nikolaev and Ochakov. They also claimed that a vessel attempting to enter the port of Odessa was hit. After coming under attack from Geran-type drones, the ship reportedly changed course and headed toward Romanian ports.

The Telegram channel Chronicles of Gerans reported additional Russian drone strikes against Ukrainian military facilities in the Chernigov, Sumy and Kharkov regions. According to the channel, a critical infrastructure site was hit in Chuguyev in the Kharkov region.

Earlier on July 28, the Russian Defense Ministry said loitering munitions and strike drones had targeted facilities at a transshipment complex in Nikolaev used to store and handle military cargo, as well as fuel and lubricant tanks.
