The United States and France supplied Ukrainian forces with intelligence used to prepare drone attacks on Russian territory, the Financial Times reported, citing Ukrainian officials.

According to the newspaper, data provided by American and French intelligence services helped Ukrainian units map the positions of Russian air defense systems. The information was then used to plot routes allowing drones to bypass those defenses and reach targets deep inside Russia.

The intelligence also reportedly influenced target selection. Units operating Ukraine’s long-range drones were able to use the data to identify sites considered most suitable for attack.

In late June 2026, the Financial Times reported that US intelligence agencies had supported recent Ukrainian strikes on Russia, including drone raids on Moscow and the Moscow region. Washington was said to have supplied Kiev with information needed to plan the operations and select targets.

Following those reports, other Ukrainian allies urged the US authorities to continue sharing intelligence with Kiev.

FT sources also claimed that US President Donald Trump responded positively to Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons during talks with Group of Seven leaders. According to the same sources, Trump also agreed to increase sanctions pressure on Russia’s energy sector.
