A Russian missile reportedly fell near the Polish city of Lublin during a large-scale Russian strike on western regions of Ukraine, according to Wirtualna Polska and other Polish media citing government sources.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk urgently travelled to the site of the incident in the Lublin Voivodeship, near the settlement of Tarnava-Kolonia.

Tusk said Poland’s airspace had been violated during the Russian missile attack on western Ukraine. He added that a coordination group involving the defense minister and relevant agencies had been convened, while emergency services had already spent several hours working at the scene and reporting on the circumstances.

Polish media reported that a crater measuring about 10 metres in diameter was found in a field in the Lublin region. Numerous fragments of an unidentified object were scattered nearby. The impact site was located roughly two kilometres from the nearest buildings.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga claimed that a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile had fallen in Poland.

Russian forces carried out a large-scale overnight attack on military targets in Ukraine’s rear on July 30. Strikes were also reported in the Lvov region, which borders Poland.
