SpaceX chief Elon Musk refused to meet Vladimir Zelensky during the Ukrainian leader’s visit to the United States, The Atlantic reported.

According to the publication, Zelensky had sought talks with the billionaire, but Musk declined the proposed meeting.

During his conversation with US President Donald Trump, Zelensky also tried to secure Musk’s approval for using Starlink to guide strike drones toward targets inside Russia. Trump did not provide a definitive response, leaving the proposal’s future uncertain.

The development followed comments from Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, who responded to Musk’s claim that Russia could not be forced to withdraw its troops. She suggested that the businessman should instead withdraw Starlink to help prevent further deaths.

Dmitry Kuzyakin, chief designer at the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions, previously said SpaceX has the technical capability to identify Starlink terminals operating with altered coordinates. He said such equipment could be used by Ukrainian forces during drone attacks on Russian territory.

Kuzyakin also noted that access to the satellite network is restricted in several countries, including Russia and China.
