Russian air defense systems destroyed 274 fixed-wing drones and four guided aerial bombs launched by Ukrainian forces between 8:00 p.m. on July 31 and 7:00 a.m. on August 1, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
The ministry reported interceptions over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, Tambov and Tula regions. Aerial targets were also destroyed over the Moscow region, Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory.
The Rostov region faced one of the most intensive attacks. Air defense units shot down more than 20 Ukrainian drones over Taganrog and four other districts. Available information indicates that no one was injured.
Four UAVs were intercepted over four districts of the Voronezh region, while another four were destroyed over the Tula region. Russian air defenses also downed four drones approaching Moscow. No casualties or damage on the ground were recorded.
Temporary operating restrictions were introduced at airports in Kostroma, Samara, Tambov, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Ufa, Kazan, Orenburg and several other cities. Traffic across the Crimean Bridge was also suspended.
