Russian forces have taken control of two more settlements, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s August 1 report on the military operation in Ukraine.
The village of Lyubitskoye in the Zaporozhye Region was captured by units of Russia’s Vostok group of forces. The settlement had a population of 634 according to the 2001 census.
Units of the Zapad group took Olgovka in the Kharkov Region. The village was home to 62 people at the time of the 2001 census.
The ministry also reported continued air defense operations over the previous 24 hours. Russian crews destroyed 15 guided aerial bombs and 743 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to the same report, Ukrainian units lost about 1,330 servicemen across the military operation zone during the day.
