The Russian Defense Ministry reported an overnight strike on Ukrainian port infrastructure and vessels used in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the ministry, Russian forces employed air-launched precision weapons and attack drones. Fuel storage tanks intended to supply the Ukrainian military were hit at the port of Odessa, while a naval tug converted for the deployment of unmanned boats was struck in the port of Nikolayev.
The ministry also said a dry cargo ship carrying military equipment was hit in the Black Sea, eight kilometers east of Zatoka.
Russian forces had also targeted the ports of Odessa and Nikolayev on August 1. That attack damaged fuel and lubricant storage facilities in Odessa and a converted tug in Nikolayev.
On July 30, Russian Geran-4 Seeker drone crews struck three vessels in the Black Sea that were delivering supplies to the Ukrainian military.
The Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly stated that its strikes are directed at Ukrainian military and energy facilities, as well as infrastructure linked to them.
