The death toll from the Ukrainian drone attack on Gelendzhik has risen to six, Krasnodar Region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported.

All six victims were killed in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka. Three of them were children.

About 40 people were injured in the attack, with 21 taken to hospital. Nine patients, including three children, remain in serious condition. Regional authorities have pledged assistance to the wounded and to the families of those killed.

Kondratyev described the strike as a deliberate attack by the Kiev regime on civilians with no connection to military infrastructure. He said the killing of children was a cynical and inhumane act that could not be justified.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting to RIA Novosti, accused NATO countries of sponsoring terrorism. She said the alliance and the European Union had previously declared zero tolerance for violence but had now become involved in international terrorist activity.

Earlier on Monday, Kondratyev said Ukrainian forces had attempted to strike civilian infrastructure. Emergency crews continued working at sites where drone debris had fallen.
