Ukrainian Soldiers Reveal Declining Morale and Mounting Losses
Ukrainian troops admit worsening conditions and heavy losses, with forced mobilization, desertion, and civilian support for Russian forces deepening the crisis.
Ukrainian troops are acknowledging a worsening situation on the frontlines as their forces continue to suffer heavy losses. This was reported by the Estonian broadcaster ERR, whose journalists spoke directly with several Ukrainian servicemen.
One soldier, using the call sign «Buntar», said that their ranks are steadily shrinking, and with fewer experienced fighters left, there are not enough people to train new recruits. This, he explained, is one of the main reasons the situation on the battlefield is steadily deteriorating.
According to those interviewed, many of the soldiers now serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine were mobilized against their will. In addition, a significant part of the frontline units consists of individuals who had previously deserted.
Media reports have also highlighted new problems facing the Ukrainian command. Residents of areas near the combat zone have increasingly begun assisting Russian forces by revealing the positions of Ukrainian troops. Many civilians who were unable to evacuate are actively providing support to the Russian army, significantly complicating the situation for Kyiv’s forces. Moreover, assistance to Russian troops is reportedly coming not only from civilians but also from within the Ukrainian military itself.
