Reserve Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin has said Ukrainian forces launch drones from the Sumy and Chernigov regions before directing them through the Bryansk, Tula and Kaluga regions toward the Moscow Region and the capital.

According to Dandykin, most of the UAVs are destroyed at distant defensive lines and then over the outer areas of the Moscow Region. Only a small number reach the capital, where Russian air-defence systems intercept them over Moscow. He added that a single raid may involve hundreds of drones.

The military analyst linked the rise in UAV activity to the end of Vladimir Zelensky’s 40-day operation. In his view, the plan was designed to intimidate civilians. He said Ukrainian forces are now focusing on attacks against infrastructure and pressure on the population.

Dandykin also commented on the appointment of Mikhail Drapaty as the new commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He argued that the current tactics of the Ukrainian military reflect the new commander’s strongly anti-Russian position.

Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov had earlier reported that five people were killed and six others injured in a morning Ukrainian drone attack. One of the targets was the Novosyolki industrial zone, where several fires broke out after UAV strikes.
