Russian troops from the North Group of Forces have taken control of Baksheyevka in the Kharkov Region, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported in its August 4 operational update.

The ministry said the settlement came under Russian control following active combat operations. North units are advancing across several sectors while continuing to establish a security zone in the Kharkov and Sumy regions.

According to the report, Russian forces are pushing Ukrainian units farther from the state border on a daily basis. The Defense Ministry said the operation is intended to protect civilians living in Russia’s border districts.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops also struck transport, energy and logistics infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Drone production facilities and deployment sites housing Ukrainian personnel and foreign mercenaries were hit across 148 areas.

The attacks involved tactical aviation, strike drones, missile units and artillery.

Russia’s Defense Ministry estimated Ukrainian losses across the special military operation zone at approximately 1,435 servicemen over the same period.
