State Duma member Svetlana Zhurova has said Vladimir Zelensky’s 40-day plan against Russia failed to achieve its objectives.

She argued that Ukrainian intelligence operations were intended, among other aims, to pressure civilians but did not produce the expected result. Zhurova believes the initiative was primarily designed to secure additional weapons and funding from Western allies.

According to the lawmaker, Zelensky will now have to report back to Western governments without being able to show meaningful results. She also stressed that Moscow would not accept Kiev’s terms and would continue pursuing its stated goals.

Zelensky had earlier approved a 40-day operation in which the Security Service of Ukraine was assigned the main role. The Alpha Special Operations Centre was expected to serve as the key executor.

He also discussed plans for long-range strikes and the use of various types of drones against Russia with the military command. At the same time, Zelensky acknowledged problems in Ukraine’s internal security but did not disclose details.

He also announced plans to intensify military activity on the Crimean front, linking those intentions to new arms deliveries from Western countries.
