Russian forces could launch another large-scale coordinated attack on military targets deep inside Ukraine within the next 48 hours, Ukrainian monitoring resources reported on August 4. Kiev and the surrounding region are expected to face the heaviest concentration of strikes.

According to the reports, US intelligence warned Kiev that Russia had accumulated as many as 25 ballistic and anti-ship Tsirkon missiles.

American forecasts also suggest that Russian troops could carry out ballistic missile strikes against Ukraine every three to four days throughout August. Up to three major attacks per month are expected later.

On the evening of August 4, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported a new series of strikes against Ukrainian ports, vessels and port infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The ministry said three dry cargo ships were hit at the port of Nikolaev. A container terminal holding military cargo and a warehouse containing FP-2 strike drones were struck at the port of Chernomorsk.

Another dry cargo vessel transporting equipment for Ukrainian forces was also hit in the Black Sea south of Odessa.
