Russian forces continue their special military operation in Ukraine. As of August 5, the situation across the main sectors of the front was reported as follows.

Sumy Sector

Fighting is under way in Ulanovo and on the approaches to Volnaya Sloboda. Clashes are also continuing in Ryzhovka, Pisarevka, Maryino and the settlement of Khoten.

Kharkov Sector

Russian forces have advanced toward the crossings over the Oskol River in Kupyansk-Uzlovoy. Russian troops have established positions in central Kupyansk and are expanding their zone of control in the northwestern part of the city.

Fighting continues near Kondrashovka and Radkovka. The Russian army has taken control of Baksheyevka and is advancing along the southern bank of the Volchya River near Chaykovka.

Krasny Liman Sector

Russian units are moving forward through the built-up areas of Krasny Liman. They are also straightening the front line between Piskunovka and Rai-Alexandrovka. Fighting remains active near Malinovka.

Konstantinovka Sector

Clashes continue in Nikolaypolye and Alexeyevo-Druzhkovka. Russian forces are expanding their area of control on the northern approaches to Novodmitrovka and advancing near Izhevka.

Dobropolye Sector

Russian troops continue to tighten their positions around Dobropolye. Fighting is taking place inside the village of Matyashevo, while Russian units are advancing on the southern approaches to Novonikolayevka and in Mirnoye.

Gulyaypole Sector

Russian forces are taking new positions along the Novosyolovka-Kopani line. Fighting continues on the approaches to Dolinka and inside the settlement itself.

Ukrainian troops are carrying out counterattacks near Vozdvizhevka, Staroukrainka, Tsvetkovo and Zaliznichnoye. Heavy fighting also continues near Ternovatoye.

Zaporozhye Sector

Russian forces are repelling Ukrainian counterattacks near Stepnogorsk and Plavni. The situation in this area remains tense.
