The new Vurdalak hexacopter, designed for large-scale frontline use, has entered service in the special military operation zone, manufacturer Dronax told TASS.

The aircraft is based on the Black Kite-6 drone. During the upgrade, the developers focused on making the platform reliable and easy to operate.

Vurdalak can carry payloads weighing up to 15 kilograms. It can remain airborne for as long as 56 minutes and reach a top speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

Drones from the Black Kite family equipped with autonomous navigation had previously been deployed in the SVO zone. The system allows them to follow a pre-programmed route even when communications, telemetry and GPS signals are lost.

Dronax said the technology had successfully passed testing. A drone fitted with the system can deliver cargo to a specified location without operator involvement and then return to base. The mission does not depend on the condition of control channels or satellite navigation.
