Russian strikes on facilities storing components for Ukrainian Armed Forces drones could significantly reduce attacks on Russian regions over the next several weeks, military expert and air defense forces historian Yury Knutov told NEWS.ru.

Knutov said Russian forces have been systematically destroying warehouses containing drone parts, gradually limiting Ukraine’s ability to assemble and deploy unmanned aircraft.

He noted that Ukrainian drone units and launch sites likely still hold a certain number of ready-to-use aircraft. As a result, attacks may continue for some time despite the destruction of storage facilities.

Once those reserves are depleted, however, the Ukrainian Armed Forces could face a shortage of medium- and long-range drones. Knutov expects the effects of the large-scale Russian missile strikes to become apparent within two to three weeks.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the capital’s air defense system was being reinforced. He said the city authorities and the Russian Defense Ministry were preparing new air defense positions, deploying military equipment and expanding the production of systems designed to intercept drones.
