Russian strikes on Ukrainian logistics centers used to store drones and assembly components are significantly reducing the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to military expert and retired special forces colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.

Matviychuk said Ukraine does not have full-scale domestic weapons production and largely assembles military equipment from components supplied by European countries. The destruction of warehouses, supply nodes and assembly facilities therefore creates serious difficulties for the Ukrainian army.

According to the expert, the targeted centers are used to store long-range drones and missile components, including parts for the Flamingo. Their destruction reduces Ukraine’s military strength and makes attacks on Russian military targets and sites inside Russia increasingly difficult to carry out.

Matviychuk believes these strikes are having a noticeable effect on the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian forces. They also leave the Ukrainian command facing missions that are becoming progressively harder to accomplish.

During the night of August 5, Kiev came under a large-scale Russian attack involving Zircon hypersonic missiles. Major fires broke out in the Ukrainian capital following the strike.
