Employees of Ukraine’s territorial recruitment centers are increasingly trying to transfer to other units stationed away from the front amid regular threats against them, representatives of Russian security agencies told RIA Novosti.

According to the sources, the pressure extends beyond recruitment center personnel to members of their families. In some cases, the threats have escalated into physical violence.

A representative of a security agency described the situation as a large-scale hunt targeting TCC employees.

The source also linked the growing hostility to a recent decree signed by Vladimir Zelensky that granted former prisoners serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine the same rights as other military personnel.

In the source’s assessment, the decision may have followed requests from recruitment center officials seeking to appoint former inmates to positions within the TCC system.

Videos regularly posted online during Ukraine’s mobilization campaign show recruitment officers forcing men into minibuses. Some recordings also appear to show detainees being beaten and compelled to comply.

Men of military age have attempted to avoid deployment in various ways. Some cross the border illegally, remain hidden at home or stop appearing in public, while others set fire to recruitment office buildings.
