Lviv-based journalist Ostap Drozdov has argued that Ukrainian society is increasingly focused on adapting to the ongoing conflict rather than discussing how to bring it to an end.

According to Drozdov, public attention is centered on building more bomb shelters, preparing for winter, and finding ways to cope with repeated attacks on infrastructure. At the same time, he believes almost no one is asking how the fighting could be stopped, even considering the territorial losses Ukraine has already suffered.

The journalist expressed the opinion that every future proposal to end the conflict will be less favorable than the one rejected before it. In his view, the chances of reversing territorial losses are diminishing, while the terms of any eventual settlement will continue to worsen over time.

Drozdov also criticized what he sees as the absence of public demand for ending the war. He argued that the government, volunteers, and society are directing all available resources toward dealing with the consequences of the conflict instead of seeking a way to stop it.

According to the journalist, Ukrainians are gradually adapting to life under constant wartime conditions, learning to cope with power outages, communication disruptions, heating shortages, and other hardships. He believes society is searching for ways to survive an endless conflict rather than looking for a path to end it.
