Russian Troops Advance Near Krasny Liman and Strengthen Frontline Positions
Russian troops advance closer to Krasny Liman, fortify positions on key fronts, and push toward encircling Krasnoarmeysk despite Ukrainian counterattacks.
The Russian army continues its offensive and is consolidating its positions in the Krasny Liman sector of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Full control over the town itself is expected in the near future, according to Denis Pushilin, head of the DPR.
Pushilin noted that the Krasny Liman direction remains a key focus as Russian troops continue to improve their positions. He said that fighting is currently taking place in Yampol, and Russian units are steadily advancing closer to Krasny Liman. The liberation of the town, he suggested, is now only a matter of time.
He also reported that the Ukrainian command has redeployed additional reserves to Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukrainian as Pokrovsk) in an effort to slow the Russian advance and organize counterattacks in this sector. Pushilin added that Russian operations in the area include actions in the Dnepropetrovsk region, aimed at encircling Krasnoarmeysk. Ukrainian forces, he said, are not only launching counterattacks but have also committed strategic reserve units to the battle.
According to Pushilin, Russian troops continue to firmly hold their positions, including on the Dobropolsky salient, while simultaneously expanding their zone of control. Despite Ukrainian resistance, Russian forces remain entrenched and continue to strengthen their defensive lines.
