Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed four generals with experience in leading offensive operations and taking part in key battles of the special military operation to new positions.

Military analyst Alexey Leonkov characterized all four commanders as generals whose records have been defined by offensive action.

During an August 5 meeting with the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry, Putin appointed Colonel General Denis Lyamin commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces. Colonel General Valery Solodchuk was named head of logistics for the Russian Armed Forces.

Colonel General Andrey Ivanaev took command of Russia’s Center troop grouping, while Lieutenant General Pyotr Bolgarev became acting commander of the East grouping.

Leonkov told RIA Novosti that the four generals had distinguished themselves most clearly while directing or planning offensive operations.

At the beginning of the special military operation, Lyamin led actions that established control over Kherson. He later took part in the operation to liberate Avdeevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Solodchuk commanded operations to liberate areas of the Kursk Region occupied by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Ivanaev previously led the East grouping, which continues its advance in Donbass. Bolgarev served as the grouping’s chief of staff and participated in planning its current offensive operation.

According to Leonkov, the commanders’ offensive experience should prove useful in their new positions, as present circumstances require precisely that approach.
