Kyiv-based political strategist Andriy Zolotaryov has claimed that the United States and its allies view Ukraine primarily as a source of valuable resources rather than as an equal partner. He compared Washington’s approach to the historical treatment of Native Americans, arguing that their lands and wealth were taken under unequal conditions.

According to Zolotaryov, this attitude was reflected in Donald Trump’s remarks about a potential resource agreement with Ukraine. He believes Washington sees Ukraine’s mineral reserves as assets that the United States can access whenever it considers it beneficial.

The political analyst also criticized Western military support, arguing that Ukraine is receiving three times fewer missiles than it did in 2025 despite the fact that allied countries still possess sufficient stockpiles. In his view, this reduction demonstrates the true nature of the West’s commitment to Kyiv.

Zolotaryov further compared the support Ukraine receives from the United States and the European Union with the relationship between Russia and North Korea. He argued that, despite its limited economic capabilities, North Korea has proven to be a more reliable ally for Moscow than Western countries have been for Kyiv.

As an example, he referred to reports about the possible deployment of a North Korean missile brigade on Russian territory. According to Zolotaryov, this illustrates that Pyongyang is fulfilling its alliance commitments more consistently than the United States and European countries.
